Frequently Asked Questions
- What is the Trading Cards Experience?
- The Trading Cards Experience is Mr. Booth's custom trading card photo booth, also called a sports card booth or collectible card booth. Guests type their own details, step in front of studio lighting, and walk away with a fully-branded trading card printed on the spot.
- How does the Trading Cards Experience work?
- Step up to the booth, type your name, number, date, or any custom field the card asks for. Pose under studio lighting. The card prints, slides into its case, and the hologram sticker goes on while you watch. Sixty seconds from start to card in hand.
- What is the difference between AI mode and Classic mode?
- Classic mode runs a clean studio photo straight onto your custom card template. AI mode transforms guests into sports heroes, magazine covers, athletes, or fantasy characters. Both modes use the same card design, your event branding, and the same delivery. AI adds about 60 seconds of processing per card.
- What backdrop is used at the Trading Cards Experience?
- For Classic mode, a plain coloured backdrop is recommended for the cleanest card look. For AI mode, the backdrop does not matter because AI removes the background completely. Custom branded backdrops are available as an add-on for Classic mode.
- How long does each guest spend at the Trading Cards booth?
- Classic mode runs about 60 seconds per guest, from data entry through cased card in hand. AI mode adds a 60-second processing delay, so total time is roughly 2 minutes per guest. Plan for higher throughput in Classic mode.
- What case does the Trading Card come in?
- Standard: a hard plastic top-loader case with a plastic insert and hologram sticker on every card. Upgrade to a magnetic snap case with the hologram over top for the premium collector finish. The hologram itself can also be upgraded to a fully branded design with your event logo.
- Can the Trading Card be branded with our logo and design?
- Yes. Two paths. Stock template: pick one of Mr. Booth's templates, add your logo, make minor modifications. Fully custom: Mr. Booth's designer works with you using AI and a graphic designer to build the card art from scratch. Both paths need 2 weeks minimum lead time. Earlier booking is suggested for the cleanest result.
- Can guests choose between multiple card themes at the same event?
- Yes. Clients can offer multiple cards and multiple themes per event. Example: a sports store opening could run 5 different AI sport themes for 5 different teams within a single sport. Guests pick which theme to use and can take home multiple cards. Each card runs 60 to 90 seconds, so encourage guests to come early in the night. There is always a line-up at the end and Mr. Booth can stay longer to clear it.
- Is the Trading Card single-sided or double-sided?
- Every Trading Card is double-sided. The front carries the full-size photo. The back carries a smaller image of the guest plus stats, logos, sponsor blocks, or any graphic combination you want. Mr. Booth's designer builds the back layout to match your event.
- How do guests get their Trading Card photos and the digital copy?
- The physical card is assembled in front of every guest, hologram and all, and handed over in under a minute. The digital version of the card delivers instantly via SMS, email, or QR code. Mr. Booth also captures email and phone opt-ins for the client, with analytics sent back for post-event marketing campaigns.
- How much space does the Trading Cards Experience need?
- Minimum 10×10 foot footprint for the photo station, plus a 6ft table set off to the side for the 2-person assembly station. Plugs into a standard wall outlet. Very reliable internet is required for AI processing and instant delivery. Indoor service. Outdoor possible but not recommended. Fits hotel ballrooms, gala spaces, distillery rooms, and corporate venues across Greater Victoria.
